Jesse's Lawn Service Inc. is a family owned business established in 1995 by Jesse Hitt, a life long resident of the Peninsula. After graduating from Ferguson High School in 1963 he served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force followed by 30 years at Newport News Shipbuilding. He saw a need for personalized lawn care, particularly for senior citizens, and upon his retirement he founded the company. Jesse was the President of the company and oversaw all aspects of the business until his untimely death in October of 2021.

Mark Ireland worked his way up in the company from landscape technician to project manager and took over the role of President in October of 2021. Mark is a lifelong Peninsula resident, a 2005 graduate of York High School and a Criminal Justice Major at Old Dominion University. Mark has extensive knowledge of landscaping methods, materials, and design gained through continuing education. Mark is also a Virginia Certified Turfgrass Professional completing the CTP program with the Virginia Tech School of Turfgrass and Ecology Management.

Harrison Hitt joined the company in November of 2021 as the Operations Manager. Harrison was born and raised in Newport News Virginia. Harrison is a Hamden Sidney Graduate. With a background in sales Harrison responds to all estimate requests and oversees the completion of new work.
